snow day

We are almost up to 1/8 of an inch of snow here in Salisbury!  That means it’s already been declared a “snow day!”

I just wonder what the news reporters would say if if snowed like. . . a foot or two?  Would it be considered a weather emergency?

By the way – what do meteorologists mean when they say it’s 25, but it feels like 16?!

new year. . . new creation!

Happy New Year!

I love it when a New Year rolls around! Every year just after Thanksgiving I begin thinking about my life, my family, my church, my roles, my resources, my friends, my responsibilities, everything! I spend a great deal of time reflecting on who I am and who God is calling me to be and what he is calling me to do. I do the same for my family, my church, and pretty much for every single area of my life and all of the things that I am involved in.

There are many scripture passages that are helpful for New Year reflections. This year the one that speaks to me the most is Galatians 6:15b:

“What counts is a new creation!”

Only “in Christ” can we truly become a new creation! Only through Christ’s unpredictable and unstoppable transforming grace can we have. . .

a new attitude – Philippians 2:1-5

a new mindset – Colossians 3:1-3

new opportunities – Luke 15:11-32

a new lifestyle – 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12

So here’s my question for you. What new thing is God going to do in your life this new year?

I promise, promise you that if you passionately seek God’s will for your life; if you trust him totally with your life and everything around you he will do something new in your life! He will!

Happy New Year! Happy New YOU!!
